Modi's masterstroke - National Education Policy (NEP)

The recently launched National Education Policy (NEP) embodies an excellent strategy which will not only transform the country’s academic system but will also solve one of India’s biggest problems - obsolete syllabus that industry does not require.. Although the objective behind the NEP has been taking shape over the last few years. Earlier education for most ended at Class 10, when you took what was called the Matric exam. If you were really studious you might go on to college to get a BA or BCom degree, and after that maybe even a MA or a PhD. But for the great many, a ‘Matric pass’ was enough to land a job and start working. And that’s where the problem started. Because pretty soon there weren’t enough jobs for all the Matric passes. So schooling was extended to Class 11, or what was called Higher Secondary. But Higher Secondary wasn’t high enough to stem the overflowing tide of unemployment. So the 10+2 formula was introduced, which lengthened schooling by yet another year. But eve

Multiple Digital Learning Modes to Optimize Education Delivery

These COVID-19 times have disrupted our lives, our work and our learning to the maximum. It has forced us to find new ways to deliver curriculum, teaching and connect with learners from a distance. For many, remote teaching was just more than firing up a Zoom session to synchronously deliver classroom sessions. However, this was not at all satisfying to many faculty members and students. It left some with a distant feeling that, it was less personal and less engaged than they had felt in the prior face-to-face model.  Fortunately, there are many more online options than merely turning on the camera. For the past quarter century, online learning has been mostly asynchronous -- engaging students in print materials, short video clips and discussion boards. This “traditional” approach affords the greatest student flexibility -- anytime and anywhere. It is relatively low bandwidth while still allowing engagement between and among the students and instructor in the discussion board. Working

Will Classroom Learning shift to edtech platforms in the Post Covid Era?

19 June 2020, In the post COVID-19 era, there is a growing havoc globally and nothing much can be done until a vaccination is created. The health crisis has completely changed the traditional education system and brought the cycle to an abrupt halt. However, this has given the much needed push to the edtech sector in-terms of acceptance. As a result, this sector is regaining traction and has stirred up thoughts about the digital education system. If we have a look at the recent Google Trends for edtech queries, there has been a 60 percent rise in the last 90 days. Edtech platforms have been mushrooming over the past four-five years with a new-age teaching system, that is reliant more on technology and research. They have succeeded in creating a traditional shift in the mindset of the audience with a diverse curation of market needed or accepted courses. Riding high on this USP of not being reliant on a physical location , the outreach of these platforms is massive as they

Grazing Minds changing firm post Covid

May 19,2020 This month, we’re starting to roll out a new visual identity to better express who we are and what we do today. This is in-line with the renewed demands of the market, in terms of workforce alignment or product demands. For instance, more than half of our work for clients now, in areas like design, digital, and analytics, didn’t exist at our firm when we started off and were just an edtech training company. We at Grazing Minds are excited about the new visual identity, which we think is reinvigorating.  It’s all about updating how we communicate, so we can engage with the world more effectively, now and in the future as we continue to change in these uncertain times. The thrust in these times is to become more efficient, agile and innovative to be a leader with a plethora of products by deeply leveraging the partner network. We hope Grazing Minds to reach greater heights along with it's partner eco-system , which has been one of it's guiding principles in
